The history of Kainas Winery began nearly 100 years ago with a modest 15-hectare vineyard. Today, our vineyard has significantly expanded, encompassing 60 hectares of estate-owned vines and 40 hectares of partnered vineyards. Our family’s passion for high-quality wine and dedication to winemaking innovation drive the growth of our winery.

Our vineyards extend from the lowlands to the slopes of Mount Roda. In the flat areas, we cultivate white varieties such as Assyrtiko, Athiri, Roditis, Savvatiano, and Malagouzia, along with European varieties like Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Ugni Blanc.

At an altitude of 340-380 meters on the slopes of Mount Roda, our dry vineyards are where we grow red varieties including Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Grenache Rouge.

PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) wines refer to wine-producing regions within the European Union where the wine has specific characteristics related to its geographical environment and grape varieties. This category of protection guarantees the wine’s origin and ensures that it meets specific quality standards.
